The journey of locally manufactured ‘drip footwear’. The story goes back as far as 2003, when owner Lekau Sehoan did not have any shoes to wear. What started off as DIY shoe at home has now turned into a profitable mutli-million rand shoe making business.

When the dream became reality, Lekau named it DRIP. The name generally means a drop of liquid however in urban street culture it means looking nice, having high fashion senses and being highly fashionable. the versatility and different dynamic design elements of the shoe are all fused together to represent the ‘drip’ as perceived in urban settings.

The three important elements to take note of the brand are; It was started in a shack, it was started using recycled material and that it was driven by the fact Lekau didn’t have any shoes to wear.

A unique and interesting fact about the DRIP merchandise is that they have created a system that allows a client to sell back an old shoe to them. This limits the chances of inappropriate discarding of the shoe which could consequently lead to pollution of the environment. Recycling is the company’s core mandate and reusing the same material is what they stand for.
