Interview With Mikho Imimangaliso’s Pilasande Mikho Qika! Mikho Imimangaliso is a Christian Gifts service provider in Bryanston, Gauteng launched back in 2017.
We recently had a chat with the owner, Pilasande who shared the journey of her business with us. Take a look at the interview below.
Q: What inspired your business idea?
Answer: In 2017 I was involved in a car accident and my car was a write off. I suffered minor injuries but the incident could have caused a lot of damage to my body. As a response to God’s grace on my life, I wanted to spread the good news of how great and faithful God and I felt branding gifts and clothing would be the best way.
Q: What problem does your business solve? …
Answer: Advertising, fundraising and promotions with a smaller budget. Most of our clients are churches and always have a limited budget. We provide quality services at an affordable price.
Q: How does your business generate income?
Answer: We sell customized promotional items (gifts, clothing and stationery)
Q: Which are some of the challenges you face in your business? .
Answer: We do not get enough bulk order to generate good income. Most clients order single orders. The only time we get bulk orders is during church conference season.
Q: What is your differential?
Answer: We offer the best quality and best customer care
Q: What makes Mikho Imimangaliso unique from other branding companies?
Answer: Our value system sets us apart. We put customer satisfaction before profits e.g we do not accept money when we know we cannot offer the service. The business is also based on promoting Christian values and anything against that we reject.
Q: Are you proud of where your business is so far?
Answer: Unfortunately not because the COVID 19 pandemic has affected us negatively. Our walk in store is currently closed and we are working from home. Sales have significantly dropped during this time.
Q: What are your goals for Mikho Imimangaliso for the next five years?
Answer: To have distributors throughout Southern Africa. This means job creation for the unemployed while taking the business to greater heights. To have direct access to the Chinese market and not be under the trade only suppliers in SA. To own and not rent office space
Q: Your company’s vision statement prides itself in “advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ”, can you expatiate more on that in defining what Mikho Imimangaliso stands for?
Answer: Mikho Imimangaliso directly translates to there are miracles so whether you require branding for a Christian item or your general business, our vision is that as you partner with us, you may experience miracles in your sales, growth, expansion and stability.
Q: Are you in engaged in any community work?
Answer: We offer donations for church events and give customized gifts to those we are led to bless at a certain season e,g we have given notebook to preachers, customized gifts to a school girl we found online etc
