Cape Town Based Start-Up Circles Secures R2.1 Million In Funding. Start-up Circles, an innovative practical business school for entrepreneurs that assists entrepreneurs in scaling their business and becoming investor-ready has secured R2.1-million in funding from US Venture Capital fund, Enygma Ventures.

Start-up Circles helps start-ups to launch and fundraise. It helps entrepreneurs in building a commercially viable business and equips them to pitch their business to the company’s network of investors. It also helps them get the information they need to build a business that makes money and is investable.

Sarah Dusek Managing Partner of Enygma Ventures explained to Venture Burn that the investment is a strategic commitment to the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. “We’ve been incredibly impressed by the talent of African entrepreneurs but sometimes the difference between being investable and having a scalable business is just knowledge and know-how. Start-up Circles is closing the gap for emerging market entrepreneurs to help them shine and build impactful, profitable businesses. We are delighted to be not just investing in entrepreneurs but also in developing the ecosystem.”

The company is empowering people to launch their start-ups, fundraise and grow valuable businesses. Its mission is to help humanity thrive by enabling people to build commercially viable businesses quickly and cost effectively. The company believes that commercially viable businesses can take care of themselves, their people, and customers as well as help build communities and economies.

Sandras Phiri Founder and CEO of Start-up Circles told Venture Burn that, “We are so delighted to be partnering with Enygma Ventures to grow businesses in Africa. I truly believe Africa is primed for significant development in the decade ahead and that will largely come from the growth of SMEs.”

The company’s Founders Circle coaching programme is for business owners who want to increase revenue and start-ups that want to gain traction that matters. The How To Pitch for Investment course will teach business owners the indispensable smart-cuts to prepare and present a winning pitch, and teach them how to approach investors in a way that makes an impact.
