Township Entrepreneurs Alliance (TEA) Is An Organisation Aimed At Empowering Township Based Companies. Township Entrepreneurs Alliance better known as TEA is an organisation that was established in 2015 and has a focus in empowering township based companies and entrepreneurs with knowledge sharing, skills development, enterprise development and access to market. Township Entrepreneurs Alliance was started out of a need to advocate for entrepreneurship and a possible career choice through its high school engagements and empower existing and aspiring entrepreneurs with skills require to operate and grow an business sustainably through is monthly free workshops hosted in various townships across the country.
Township Entrepreneurs Alliance has directly impacted over 6500+ entrepreneurs and 20 000+ township high school students. Its dream is to develop hubs of economic development that will aid the youth in townships and rural areas in South Africa. The company is driven by the passion and creativity it sees and experiences in the different entrepreneurs it engages. The company believes that the African story is yet to be old and entrepreneurship acts as a great platform for execute on this.
Township Entrepreneurs Alliance runs the #TEA event once bi-monthly on a Saturday from 9am – 1pm, where the participants will be required to wear formal business attire or smart casual because it believes that presentation is key and they will be armed with a business card and an attitude of growth.
The company opens the platform to 3 brave entrepreneurs to pitch their businesses/idea with the winner receiving a price’s and all of them being assisted with fine tuning their pitches. They will be able to connect, this speaks to networking, and the moment possibility meets opportunity. Entrepreneurs will be able to develop, this will come through the strategy talks that will happen at the event and further developmental training that will be provided by a sponsor. The will also be able to grow, its definition of growth is profitability, creating employment for other people and impacting the local economy.
The company will have a strategic talk / workshop, this will deal with the business development & skills development on various topics monthly. Entrepreneurs will have a networking segment where everyone gets to engage and talk. There is also an entrepreneur who has walked the path and achieved success that will share on how they did it, what drives them and share knowledge & wisdom nuggets.
