SA Winery Warwick Wine Estate Reflects On The Harvest Of Its First Lady Chardonnay. Stellenbosch based winery Warwick Wine Estate took to Twitter to reflect on the harvest if its first lady Chardonnay. The company thanked its farmers as they are vital in the process of this harvest.

The post read, “The harvest of our First Lady Chardonnay is no ordinary one. It’s a celebration of the moment, where we get to pay thanks for everything our farmers do. If you want to know what it means when we say ‘farm to bottle’, grab a bottle and taste the harvest.” The Warwick Estate brand was developed the same way one might nurture a grape vine; through decade upon decade of careful planning, pruning, and persistence.

In 2018, setting its sights on the future, the company acquired the neighbouring estate of Uitkyk. The acquisition of this new land under the leadership of an internationally experienced team is an exciting chapter to have added to Warwick’s history. The company understands how crucial the farmers are in the process of making the best wine. They maintain the most important ingredient that is used to make the wine and the Warwick Wine Estate appreciates this. The company describes this as a celebration moment as it has achieved what it set out to achieve.

The winery is situated in the foothills and mid-slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain, with altitudes ranging from 240 to 360 metres above sea level, as it carries all the elements required to make world-class wine. With cooling factors from both elevation and ocean breezes, as well as a variety of slopes, aspects and soil types, the Warwick vineyards are a mix of classic Bordeaux cultivars, with a touch of South African stalwarts like Pinotage and old vine Chenin Blanc.
