Welcome to the Bulb World Botswana! What started off as just a vision to light up a few homes, has turned into a very lucrative LED light bulb business that is only destined for bigger and better. The journey began in 2016, with founder Ketshephaone Jacob and now getting into it’s fifth year, it is only a matter of time of time before their products are found on shelves all over Southern Africa.

The business has a fully functional and operational factory shop based in Selibe Phikwe. An inspiration to many, one can only but imagine the ray of hope Jacob brought to the residents of the once glorious mining town which has lost its shine since the closure of the BCL mine in 2016. Times are tough and The Bulb World as a thriving startup, is playing its part in creating employment and empowering citizens.

While a majority of the LED light bulbs are found in Square Mart supermarket outlets, a number of stores have shown keen interest in bulk buying of the product to re-sell to consumers. Support is also seen in numbers from members of society who run spaza shops and tuckshops, who also purchase the product and distribute from their establishments.

The Bulb World also makes a number of nation wide deliveries to companies and organizations, a clear sign that their products have been welcome with open arms. The beauty of it all lies in the diversification of the company’s products everyday.

Jacob recently shed light, in his tweet, highlighting the possibility of a new product underway. It is just a matter of time before they spring something new on consumers showing exactly why they are experts at what they do.
