Highbury Media Allocates R1 Million To Help Save Cape Town’s Restaurants

Highbury Media Allocates R1 Million To Help Save Cape Town’s Restaurants. The Hospitality Industry has been negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in that most of its businesses had to stop their operations as their businesses deal with large number of crowds. The prohibition of social gatherings and events put a strain on restaurants as many of them were dependent on hosting events that attract large crowds to make a profit. The ban of the sale of alcohol also contributed to the dire situation that the industry finds itself in as alcohol was a big contributor to the business’ bottom line. Highbury Media has committed R1 Million to help save Cape Town restaurants that are negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the lockdown.

Highbury Media CEO Kevin Ferguson confirmed the allocation of R1-million in advertising spend to benefit and showcase restaurants in Cape Town, as well as content creation for those restaurants severely affected because of lockdown and the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I have lived in Cape Town for the past 25 years. It is a city in my heart and I am a big admirer of the restaurant culture in Cape Town. It is painful to see how the pandemic has decimated so many restaurants and how so many people in the industry have suffered. We want to help give back and contribute to people living and earning again,” Ferguson told Cape Town Etc.

With the Highbury Media stable being as big as it is, Ferguson encouraged any restaurants in Cape Town to contact the company so they can help create awareness, promote their menus and specials, and the experience of visiting their establishment.

“We know these restaurants currently don’t have marketing spend and this is our way of giving these amazing people something back. This is a time for us to be strong as a collective and to give back to those who in the past have invested in our media businesses.” Ferguson added.

Restaurants bring a certain aura to the location it is situated in. it is a social venue that people gather to have food or drinks and it is very important in the tourism sector too. This is why Ferguson urged other executives and CEO’s in the media to get behind the restaurant industry and help get people earning and fed again.

The company promises to promote whatever your story is in making a difference to people’s lives, It will promote it on Cape Town Etc and other relevant Highbury digital and print platforms.
