He became known for his short comedy skits where he sarcastically points out people who complicate simple tasks for no reason at all. As of August 2021, Lame is the second most-followed TikTok account with over 102.3 million followers.

Lame was born in Senegal on 9 March 2000 and he is 21 years old and he was raised in a public housing complex in Chivasso, Italy, since the age of one, where he still lives. Before TikTok, Lame worked as a CNC machine operator. Khabe lost is job due to the COVID-19 pandemic and he experienced financial issues, which he overcame via his TikTok videos.

Lame began posting on TikTok in March 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdowns. In December 2020, he modelled for the magazine DLuiRepubblica. On 26 April 2021, he overtook Gianluca Vacchi as the most-followed Italian TikToker.

Having shot to internet fame over the last year, Khaby Lame’s net worth has also sky-rocketed. According to reports it is estimated that the 21-year-old is worth between $1-$2 million. “Companies have been known to pay $200 to $20,000 per branded video promoted by influencers, depending on the individual’s level of influence,” said Influencer Marketing Hub. Influencer Marketing Hub also estimates that Khaby Lame can earn between $50,461-$84,102 per post.

TikTok, known in China as Douyin, is a video-sharing focused social networking service owned by Chinese company ByteDance. The social media platform is used to make a variety of short-form videos, from genres like dance, comedy, and education, that have a duration from fifteen seconds to three minutes.

TikTok has provided a platform for users to create content not only for fun, but also for money. As the platform has grown significantly over the past few years, it has allowed companies to advertise and rapidly reach their intended demographic through influencer marketing. Which is how Lame has amassed his wealth.
