Drip Footwear Set To Open Its 18th Store In Gqeberha. South African sneaker brand Drip Footwear has announced that it is opening its 18th Store in Gqeberha at Baywest Mall. The founder Lekau Sehoana also took to Twitter to make the announcement, indicating that the brand still plans on opening more stores.

The post read, “I’d like to Announce the Grand Opening of our 18th @DRIPFootWear Store this coming Saturday 30th of October 2021. 2 years of Drip, 18 Stores and 128 Employees. A South African Township Story, building it One Drip at a Time. Drip, LIVE YOUR GREAT!”

Drip Footwear is a company that has had so much impact on the urban culture of South Africa in that many young people in the country are inspired to pursue entrepreneurship because of what the company has achieved. Building a brand that is going to be able to stand the test of time and be successful requires the business to be running optimally so that it can see gradual growth over the years and develop into an experienced competitor in its industry.

The Drip Footwear brand is making sure it does this as it is also building its brand outside of just selling footwear; the company has also diversified into football as it creating soccer kits for the Black Eagles Football Club, a team owned by the founder Lekau Sehoana. The company always indicates its long term goals through establishing how they are going to achieve them and setting the course clear.

The story of Drip Footwear dates back to 2003, were founder Lekau Sehoana had to make the most out of what he had, which sparked innovation and creativity. Growing up in an informal settlement of Ivory Park, Lekau Sehoana didn’t have any shoes to wear. He then saw an old torn sneaker and redesigned it using Denim and Polyurethane. This sneaker became a local hit and led him to making an entry into the shoe making business and exchanging pain for profit, for the next 5 Years of his High School life. A few years later, Drip was born.
