Local Luxury Brand Maxhosa Is Set To Showcase Its Latest Collection. South African local luxury brand Maxhosa took to Instagram to announce that it will be showcasing its latest collection from its collaboration with Japanese company Tokyo Knit.

The company explained that they are working with Tokyo Knit to create a collection both is South Africa and in Tokyo. The collection is dubbed as ‘We are the ones they have been waiting for’. Maxhosa is a brand that has been able to reach certain heights with its clothing in that it has been able to establish itself in the international market and more and more people are interested in the brand at a global scale.

With the name of the collection, Maxhosa seeks to send out a message that they have the products that people all over the world have been waiting for. The collaboration of the two brands is brilliant because they will be exposing each other to different markets and customers that will be willing to support as they both represent their history and heritage through fashion.

Tokyo Knit’s mission is sending the future of knitwear that can only be created in Tokyo to the world. It started with the handiwork of samurai in the late Edo period inheriting the history of knitwear in this area taking advantage of the encounter with the new sensibilities of Tokyo in the 21st century; the company aims to create the future of fashion starting from knitwear.

Maxhosa Africa is a South African knitwear brand founded in 2012 by Laduma Ngxokolo. This was with desire to explore knitwear design solutions that would be suitable for amakrwala (Xhosa initiates). His initial vision was to create a modern Xhosa-inspired knitwear collection that would be suitable for this market. As a person who has undergone the process, Laduma felt that he had to develop premium knitwear that celebrates traditional Xhosa aesthetics.
