Adapt IT Founder Sbu Shabalala Highlights The Capability Of South African ICT Start-Ups. In an interview with Business Day TV, founder of Adapt IT Sbu Shabalala highlighted the capability of South African ICT start-ups. He emphasised that international companies should not underestimate African start-ups as they are more than capable of delivering the work that is required.
He said, “You know, a lot of international companies underestimate South African capabilities, and we have proven that as a South African business we can build software in South Africa and sell it offshore and make sufficient hard currency out of the sales of our software. We believe that with the growth that we are planning in the next few years we will certainly build a large enough business that is very lucrative for our shareholders.”
Shabalala believes that if South African companies can invest in themselves and their growth, they will be able to compete on a global scale as they would have the finances and resources to deliver products or services at that level. He believes that his company has been able to build and scale carefully so that they continue to grow outside of South Africa, the company has been reported to be one of the leading ICT companies in the country and they seek to venture into other territories to make sure that its footprint has a significant impact.
