Cassper Explains Why He Stopped Wearing Galxboy
Cassper Explains Why He Stopped Wearing Galxboy. South African musician Cassper Nyovest took to Twitter to explain why he stopped wearing Galxboy, a South African local clothing brand.
The post read, “Yeah back back then. Always supported local brands. Galxboy always been dope , still is.. Stopped wearing it when the owner of the brand tweeted that I wqs wack . I was like damn that sucks. Lol”
Cassper Nyovest has been known to support local clothing brands, he expressed how the Galxboy brand was still a good brand even though he and the founder have their differences. Through this type of mentality local brands can grow prosper as they will not be judged on what the founders are like but how good the product or service that they are providing is.
However, some people would argue that the entrepreneur should know that he or she represents their business and they should always treat other people with respect, this is why other people may feel like Nyovest was justified when he stopped wearing Galxboy because the founder didn’t like his music. The rapper has also ventured into creating his own brands, he understands that supporting local brand will help the industry grow, this is why he encourages people to buy local. Even though local businesses such as Galxboy should be supported Nyovest finds that he was within his right to no longer support and wear the brand.
Galxboy is a South African streetwear brand which has its roots in the underground and rebellious youth street culture that dominates the urban centres of South Africa. Galxboy is the brainchild of Thatiso Dube who is the founder and head designer of the brand. In 2008, he saw a gap in the market for a brand that was designed by the youth for the youth, in particular, Millennials as well as Generation Z. Through ambition, perseverance and teamwork Galxboy was born.
