How Headwear Start-Up Freya Hats Aims To Supply Top Quality Hats For Its Customers

How Headwear Start-Up Freya Hats Aims To Supply Top Quality Hats For Its Customers. With a desire to create sustainable fashion pieces with a purpose, Freya Hats was established. Freya Hats has a steadfast commitment to sustainability so it tries to be as sustainable as possible – from production to packaging. Each hat is packaged in its custom-made drawstring bags which are reusable and plastic-free.

These bags are made from end of roll or discarded fabric. The company’s straw and felt hats are delivered in reused cardboard boxes. Its hats are gender-inclusive, made for the fashion-forward individual. Each hat is handmade locally from natural fibres or up-cycled materials. The hats were first made from discarded fabric sample books and as it evolved so did its fabric options. All the company’s hats are made by female-owned CMTs based in South Africa. The company also believes in supporting its local communities. Therefore, a portion of all profits is donated to charities which support women and children in need.

A percentage of all sales is donated to various charities which support women and children in need. The company has an ongoing collaboration with The CORA Project. 100% of profits from the sale of the CORA hat is donated to The CORA Project with the aim to help fight period poverty in South Africa. Freya Hats aims to embrace slow fashion while designing quality pieces that transcend the seasons. According to the company each hat is designed and handmade with love. The company’s name Freya means lady and in Scandinavian mythology she was the goddess of love.

Freya Hats also understands that shipping is an extra expense that people don’t want to pay for so it has tried its best to ensure customers receive the hat they want while it still covers its costs. The company charges R85 standard delivery on all of its soft hats regardless of where it is sending them in the country.
