13 Year Old Fashion Designer Enhle Gebashe Shares How She Got To Design Her School’s Uniform. In an interview with The Insider SA, fashion designer and founder of Enhle Babes Couture, Enhle Gebashe shared how she got to design her school’s uniform.
Gebashe said that when she first arrived at a her school, she realised that the grade 7 learners were not recognised and there were not distinct as the seniors of the school, she then decided that it would be a great idea if she would design a jacket that will make the grade 7s unique. With the idea of the jacket being a success she also chose to design a reflective vest that will help the school’s scholar patrol so that they can be visible to the car and the people around. She also decided to design the school’s uniforms as she believe they were not unique enough.
”When she came to the school she realised our uniform wasn’t unique, because everywhere you went, it was there in our district and our circuit, provincially and nationally. So she created our beautiful uniform with our school colours, which is red, white and navy. It looks beautiful and matches so nicely with the school jacket and socks,” Zama Makhanya, Principal of Josephine Makhanya Primary Sport School of Excellence told The Insider SA.
Gebashe is proving that age is not something that can stop one from pursuing their entrepreneurial aspirations, she shows that with hard work and perseverance, anyone at any age a can develop the discipline to start their own business and make it a success. She has been able to inspire her fellow schoolmates as they see her as someone who is a go-getter and a leader.
“My love for fashion basically came from my mom’s side of the family. My great gran, my granny and my mom all had a passion for fashion,” Gebashe told The Insider SA.
