MatchKit Co-Founder Ben Karpinski Shares Why It Was Best For The Company To Be Established During The Pandemic. In an interview with AlphaCode Club, co-founder of MatchKit Ben Karpinski shared why it was best for MatchKit to be established during the pandemic.
Karpinski said, “I think for MatchKit we were at the position of trying to start during the pandemic, but there is no good time to start a business so we saw the positives. We got to spend a lot more time together, a lot more focussed time and because everyone was at home we had access to all kinds of athletes around the world, various stakeholders in the world of sports that we can bug on a zoom call, so there was a lot of cold calling in the beginning, there was a lot of insights being shared and a lot of interviews being had and we got to almost I think fast track what we wanted to do which maybe wouldn’t have happened in a non-pandemic time.”
A lot of businesses were not able to operate during the height of the pandemic, the lockdown restrictions made it impossible for some businesses to trade as the government sought to curb the spread of the virus. Some businesses such as MatchKit do not require a lot of physical contact there for they were able to continue their businesses or even thrive a lot more as they wee not restricted in terms of their business operations.
Karpinski highlights that the pandemic allowed the company to focus and bring about innovative solutions that elevated the business to reach the heights it has reached. MatchKit used all the resources it could in order to achieve the level of success it has today, the company did a lot of online research and zoom brainstorming calls that allowed it to navigate seamlessly through the pandemic.
