Thusanang Enabling Support Services offers door-to-door deliveries of medical consumables to persons with disabilities; these consumables are classified as bladder management products, incontinence products, hygiene products, ostomy products, wound-care products, and bowel movement products.
The company’s main area of focus is rendering services to assist and provide its disabled clients with solutions to the challenges they face daily. This is achieved by having direct relationships with service providers and suppliers of these solutions through the experience and relationships forged by its founder. Working closely with Associate Case Managers enables Thusanang to determine and agree on each individuals’ specific requirements and then provide a 3 month supply of medical consumables.
The company has close relationships with numerous manufactures and suppliers of equipment, devices, medical and surgical consumables. Its vision is to facilitate the independence of disabled persons by offering a wide range of services and providing continuous assistance where needed. The company’s mission is to successfully facilitate and encourage independency and life fulfilment of people with disabilities in the African continent.
Thusanang Enabling Support Services was founded by Edwina Makgamatha, she also has a disability herself and she is very passionate about the alleviation of some of the hurdles experienced by the disabled individuals. Hence, the company provides motivational talks to encourage newly disabled persons return to their daily lives and forge a life of independence to an optimal level. The organisation also offers careworker training aimed at equipping the caregivers with adequate hands on knowledge on how to assist the disabled individual in their day to day lives, including health, hygiene, simple exercise, diet etc.
The company also specialises in providing medical supplies for persons who have claimed from the Road Accident Fund. Once a person has submitted all required information, one of its agents will give them a call to take their specific medical consumables order, which will be for a period of three months after they have been pre-authorised by the RAF regions.
