Moja Chicken Founder Letlhogonolo Motseeng Shares The Marketing Strategies He Used To Grow His Fast Food Business. In an interview with eNCA, Moja Chicken founder Letlhogonolo Motseeng shared some of the marketing strategies he used in order to grow his fast food business.

He said, “I come from a marketing industry so I’ve done marketing for more than 15 years, I think for me when I was doing the research I was just learning how to position the brand and how to market the brand, when I got into the industry, I knew the first thing I had to do was to start in Soweto, because Soweto alone is a brand, it’s a historic township. So it’s always easier to start something in Soweto and copy and paste it in other areas or provinces, that’s is exactly what I did, that was the strategy.”

Motseeng continued to say, “…Moja Chicken has its own signature sauce, we use our own sauces that you cant find anywhere eels except our stores, I think with so many chicken outlets in the country or in the townships, what stands out about Moja Chicken is the appearance, we are very loud and very bright and our distinct signature sauces of course. Our prices are very affordable because we know our target market, we are targeting the low LSM market, the Middle class and also the rich, we are not just catering for a specific market but we are targeting everyone.”

Motseeng detailed how he positioned the brand of the business in the public’s eye in order for it to sell, this is what entrepreneurs need to do when they are starting their business. Making sure that the brand stands out and is positioned in a place that people are already familiar with gives the brand exposure to a wider audience and now the brand can be expanded into other areas as it would have gained the support of the local community.

Having a solid marketing strategy is something that entrepreneurs should be investing in heavily because when a brand is given distinct marketing, it will stand out of the crowd and be unique to consumers and therefore it will create an impact in the consumer’s eyes.
