DU Confidence Designs Founder Dudu Ngubane Shares Where Her Love For Entrepreneurship Stems From. In an interview with The Hustler’s Corner with DJ Sbu, founder of DU Confidence Designs Dudu Ngubane shared where her live for entrepreneurship stems from. Entrepreneurs can be inspired by a lot of things to start a business, the best thing for them to do is to just start.
Ngubane said, “So I came to Durban to study and then during my varsity days I was exposed to fashion because I was doing music and drama. You know how varsity life is like, you have to make your own spare change and not entirely depend on your parents, so I worked a lot as a wardrobe assistant, so I was introduced to various types of fabrics and I fell I love with what I was seeing at that particular time, other than that I love fashion, I like to look beautiful and I like to look different, that’s my entrepreneurship journey. Being an entrepreneur also stems from home, I began selling fish, whenever I got back from school, I took a dish filled with fish and would go sell the fish before I would go play. I fell in love with business, I grew up with the faith that I don’t want to work for someone.”
Dudu is a hard working self taught fashion designer who is passionate about making a difference within her community. She is also the founder of Siyabanakekela Youth and skills development programme, which links underprivileged youth with different institutions and further provide mentorship skills.
It is clear that Ngubane was exposed to entrepreneurship for most of her life, this helped her to develop the mind-set of entrepreneurship and to realise her love for it. Even though she a was exposed to it at a young age, Ngubane already understood and knew that she doesn’t want to work for someone else but to work for herself.
