Entrepreneur Kgosi Rampa Announces The Return Of The ‘Makhelwane Festival’ Marketplace For Young Entrepreneurs. South African entrepreneur and founder of the Makhelwane Festival marketplace Kgosi Rampa has announced the return of the marketplace which will take place in Soweto.
The idea behind the market is to create an environment where young and aspiring entrepreneurs, creators and innovators could showcase and sell their products, meet other like-minded people, validate new ideas, get tips from established brands, create connections and get the necessary exposure to take their business further. “Makhelwane presents a lifestyle festival that aims to reconnect and reignite the community through the neighbourhood culture of ‘Bo Makhe’ – while promoting small and medium local enterprises,” Rampa told News24.
“The pandemic has made it near impossible to maintain a connection with community – be it your business, neighbourhood, social or spiritual community. This festival will be a celebration of all the connected communities that have made it through this pandemic – and celebrating the different elements that unite us, like fashion, music, food, techno, business and tourism, to mention but a few,” Rampa added.
This marketplace festival aims to uplift small businesses and young entrepreneurs who operate in townships so that they can come and showcase their products to a large number of people that will be attending the festival. This will also give the entrepreneurs a chance to network with other entrepreneurs and their customers so that they can create working relationships that will be beneficial to them or their businesses in the long run. This is because through collaboration entrepreneurs can achieve more as they will be utilising more skills and resources to effectively complete the required tasks.
This festival isn’t something that will only bring the community together but it is also keeping the township economy alive and the money will be circulating among people who reside in townships which will in turn create a stronger township economy.
