Entrepreneur Zolile Soka Shares How He Was Able To Build His Business When He Couldn’t Meet The Demands Of The Formal Market. Local South African entrepreneur Zolile Soka took to Twitter to share how he was able to build his business when he couldn’t meet the demands of the formal market. The farming business can be a lucrative business venture, but it comes with a lot of challenges that can prevent it from being successful.
The post read, “When our quantities couldn’t meet the demands of the formal market. We used to sell maas and raw milk from the back of my mothers van. I’m forever grateful to the people that bought from us.” The farming industry is very demanding as when an entrepreneur is supplying the formal market, they need to make sure that they know what they are offering and that their business is capable of doing such. This way the business would not fall short of supply and its clients will be satisfied.
Soka explained that when his business did not have the capacity to supply the formal market with its products, he didn’t give up or try to do something that was impossible, Soka came up with a plan to start selling his products to locals from the back of his mother’s van. He showed that he is patient enough to a wait for the business to grow so that he can expand properly so that when he is supplying the formal market, he will be able to do so at a high quality rate.
With the strategy he took, Soka was also able to build a loyal customer base for his business in the neighbourhood, this way even if the business expands and starts selling to the formal market, the loyal customers will still be buying from him as he they would have part of the growth of the business.
