Lucky Lekgwathi Re-Opens His ‘Grootman By Lucky Lekgwathi’ Restaurant
Lucky Lekgwathi Re-Opens His ‘Grootman By Lucky Lekgwathi’ Restaurant. South African football journalist Tshepang Mailwane reported that former professional footballer lucky Lekgwathi was officially re-opening his ‘Grootman By Lucky Lekgwathi’ restaurant in Kliptown Soweto today.
Lucky Lekgwathi’s restaurant was one if the businesses that were looted and vandalised during the unrest that happened in July last year. The business was forced to close as people destroyed the property and stole the equipment and goods that were in the restaurant. After the restaurant was damaged, Lekgwathi pleaded with the public for donations as he sought to get his business running again.
It seems he was able to secure the money and managed to rebuild the place and as he shared that he is opening the restaurant to the public again. The unrest managed to destroy a lot of businesses in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, this is because these are the provinces where the looting took place. The fact that this unrest took place amid the Covid 19 pandemic affected the businesses negatively even further as they were already struggling to keep their businesses open due to the lockdown restrictions and covid regulations.
The opening of this restaurant should be celebrated as Lekgwathi was using the income generated to support his family. He did not give up on even though he was facing a lot of challenges. Lekgwathi shows that no matter the negatives circumstances that may come one’s way, people should always remain focussed on what their vision and goal is. They should understand that anything can happen to their business or source of income so they should also be ready to tackle whatever challenge comes their way.
The former Orlando Pirates star gives hope and inspiration as entrepreneurship is something that a lot of people aspire towards. He made sure that his business gets back on its feet regardless of the circumstances and that shows people how much he is passionate about his restaurant business.
