Young SA Entrepreneur Allan Van Der Meulen Explains How His ZLTO App Is Helping Eradicate Unemployment. Allan Van Der Meulen is a 24 year old entrepreneur that founded ZLTO, an app based startup that’s seeks to connect people with small job opportunities so that they can be able to gain work experience and be able to earn some income to cover the basics. In an interview with with eNCA, he explains how the app works and how it is helping to eradicate unemployment.
He said, “We just liked at the problem that prevented young people from finding work and its either they didn’t have work experience, they didn’t have qualifications or they didn’t have money to find work. So ZLTO allows people to volunteer, gain work experience and at the same time there is an incentive which they can use to buy things. You can literally do anything, you can offer to clean or cut someone’s grass, once you identify a task that you want to do you can take pictures and upload them on the platform and at the end of the day you will receive your ZLTO.”
According to eNCA, the app has already surpassed over 100 000 users. This is a huge milestone especially since the app hasn’t been active for a long time. This is an innovative startup as it brings a positive change in the way people get their work experience or earn points to buy their essential products. The ZLTO App is the proof that through technology a lot of societal issues can be solved provided that the industry is embraced and invested in fully.
When young people like Van Der Meulen bring solutions like this to the market, they are supposed to be invested in so that they can continue to be innovative and change more lives. The startup is offering practical solutions that will have an impact in people’s lives as it is helping them to survive.
