Docklands Ventures Acquires South African Parking Start-Up Called ‘ParkUpp’. Docklands Ventures has announced that it has acquired South African Parking startup called ‘ParkUpp’ for an undisclosed amount.

“ParkUpp is an innovative market leader. Docklands is excited to continue the legacy and grow the brand. I wish Palesa and team the best with Troob as they venture to New York to start a new chapter.” Mark Bradford, CEO of Docklands Ventures told Africa Tech.

Docklands is the operating incubator for Mark Bradford’s real estate interests and activities. An entrepreneur and active participant in the sector for over 30 years, Mark has built a number of successful service and investment businesses. Docklands together with it’s local and international partners is building and delivering on three service platforms- Docklands Trading, Docklands Consulting and Docklands Tech.

Docklands Ventures has established, preferential relationships with selected unlisted real estate funds, investment and asset managers. All have proven track records and referenced institutional and high net-worth investors. In leveraging its network of professional relationships it is able to deliver credible real estate opportunities to its clients. Through this acquisition the company is seeking to merge ParkUpp into the Prop-tech industry so that the business can run efficiently and effectively.

ParkUpp is a marketplace that connects owners with idle driveways, garages, parking facilities and unused parking spaces to drivers who need parking. The company believes in simplicity, creativity and having an abundance mentality in all it does. It’s business is built under the core principle that there is enough for everyone and if people learn to share, people will not be in need of what others already have.
