Founder Of Raizcorp Allon Raiz Reveals Which Type Of Entrepreneur He Will Never Invest In. South African entrepreneur and founder of Raizcorp Allon Raiz took to Twitter to reveal which type of entrepreneur he will never invest in. Raiz wants entrepreneurs to thoroughly know the industry they are in and for them also know that there are some things that they do not know about.
The post read, “When I make a decision to invest in an entrepreneur I will not invest in an individual who knows nothing about the industry they are entering. But, more importantly, I will never invest in an entrepreneur who believes they know everything about their industry.” This shows that Raiz is interested in investing in entrepreneurs who have the ability to keep on learning more about their particular industry no matter how much knowledge they have acquired as there is always something new being created.
Allon Raiz is regarded globally as a pioneer and maverick in the business incubation industry. He is the founder and CEO of Raizcorp which, according to The Economist, is the only genuine incubator in Africa, and currently supports in excess of 500 businesses.
Raiz wants entrepreneurs to have a balance of knowing about their industry and also showing that they do not know everything. With this entrepreneurs will be able to run their business efficiently as they will have enough information about their industry. Showing that you do not know everything as an entrepreneur can also drive innovation as one would be curious about learning more so that they can improve their products or services, this keeps the entrepreneur on the their toes, this way the business in the end will benefit as the entrepreneur will be applying the new information they keep learning.
Allon is also the co-founder of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation South Africa and sits on the advisory and judging boards of international NGOs and entrepreneurial awards. Allon’s passion and focus on the development of entrepreneurs attracted the attention of the World Economic Forum (WEF) which, on 11 March 2008, awarded Allon as a Young Global Leader.
