SA Farmer Kokie Baloyi Reflects On Her New Farm’s Progress. South African entrepreneur and farmer Kokie Baloyi took to Twitter to reflect on the progress she has made at her new farm. Baloyi is a farmer that is determined to help with food security in South Africa.
The post read, “My husband decided to pass by the new farm today and check the clearing progress, I’m so emotional with the beauty he found in progress. The guy who is helping us with clearing is amazing he made bales with the grass.” Baloyi is an entrepreneur that is passionate about the agriculture industry. She wants to make sure that her company has a significant contribution to the growth of the industry as this will also help with creating employment opportunities and help with food security. Baloyi went on to add that even though she has bought the land and now she has a place where she can farm, she still needs more money in order for the farm to be fully operational.
Baloyi estimates that she needs around R300 000 in order to pay for everything that the farm needs for it to start creating job opportunities. This is why she admires women who have managed to secure all the resources they needed to build a farm and have managed to make the farm a success. She understands the difficulties that a lot of women face and to have women who are successful shows that other women can also overcome these challenges.
In another post Baloyi also acknowledges how difficult it can be for women who do not have the capital to build a farm, it read, “Being a woman and braking into the industry of Farming without any financial support is the hardest thing ever. I’m honestly so proud of all the women who make it work with the little they have, remember this ladies you are Queen’s you feed the nation. “
