SA Farmer Ntsako Shipalana Reveals Why She Runs An Empowerment Program For Aspiring Farmers. In an interview with Sowetan Live South African farmer Ntsako Shipalana revealed why she runs an Empowerment program for aspiring entrepreneurs. She has grown within the industry and now she owns her own farming business, therefore she posses a lot of knowledge that can help fellow farming entrepreneurs.

She said, “As I grew in the industry, I realised that there are people who are interested in learning about it, but don’t know where to start. I decided to close that gap by teaching. It is honestly beautiful to watch people being able to stand on their own, knowing I played a little role in that. I was raised by parents who always encouraged us to be in business and create great opportunities for ourselves, while also empowering others. Each day I receive positive feedback from the people I have assisted. We recently celebrated someone who attended our seminar and is now supplying a Pick n Pay outlet. This is a milestone.”

Shipalana is making sure that she isn’t the only one who succeeding and thriving in the Agriculture industry as she knows how difficult it is to get the business off the ground. She is making sure that entrepreneurs get all the information they need to know about establishing a sustainable farming career. By doing this Shipalana is also helping both directly and indirectly with the creation of employment opportunities for local community members. This is because the farmers that she has helped will build their businesses and therefore start to hire people to help as the business gets bigger.

Shipalana is also providing employment opportunities through her own company called Olori Chickens. She seeks to see the industry growing and for people to continue to teach and learn from each other so that their farming businesses can grow.
