KFC Add Hope Announces Its Partnership With The Peninsula School Feeding Association
KFC Add Hope Announces Its Partnership With The Peninsula School Feeding Association. It has been reported that KFC Add Hope has partnered with The Peninsula School Feeding Association to help feed learners in schools. This partnership seeks to provide 905,400 breakfast and lunch meals at nine primary and high schools in the Western Cape.
Add Hope is KFC’s initiative that encourages the collective effort of a nation to fight malnutrition and hunger in South Africa. Through the combination of KFC and R2 donations from its customers, Add Hope feeds over 150 000 underprivileged children nutritious meals to help them cultivate a brighter future. A future where every child has equal opportunities, because with a full belly, they’ll have the potential to change the world. All proceeds raised through Add Hope go directly to non-profit organisations (NPOs) which use this money to provide underprivileged children with the vital nutrition they need to break the cycle of childhood hunger.
Andra Nel, Brand Purpose and Reputation Manager at KFC said in a statement, “One of Add Hope’s strengths has always been our partnership approach. We see this come to life daily when we partner with our customers who donate their R2 and also with our non-profit partners who bring the feeding programme to life at the coal face. We have been so inspired by the incredible work that PSFA have done to relieve hunger for more than 60 years. The R1.5 million donation from KFC Add Hope will see more children being reached and help us extend our support across the Western Cape.”
The Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA) was established in 1958 when the government at the time discontinued the national school feeding programme. Aware of the need for school feeding, the Rotary Club of Paarden Eiland (now the Rotary Club of Table Bay) called a public meeting, and the organisation was established on March 10, 1958.
