South African entrepreneur and founder of Siwela Wines, Siwela Masoga took to Twitter to share how costly it is to run a wine business, she said that the wine business requires a lot of money in order to keep things running effectively and efficiently.

The post read, “Running a wine business is costly, the amount of money that is needed to keep things going and the strength one needs even when things are slow can get to you at times.” Masoga is the founder of Siwela wines, the producer of premium quality wine blends. A biotechnologist by profession, she majored in microbiology, bioprocessing and fermentation. She further enrolled for wine studies at Cape Wine Academy, as she is passionate about the wine industry and aims to inspire young South Africans to become active role players in the wine industry.

Masoga is the perfect candidate to highlight the costs of this type of business as she has been in the industry for quite a long time and in that time she a managed to build her own wine brand that has grown tremendously in that it is also attracting big retailers. Siwela shares that in order to make a business successful one needs a lot of capital that will make sure everything is executed as it should. Once the business is successful, more money is needed to maintain the business and to keep the operations running smoothly. If there is limited cash flow in the business, the business may suffer and not be able to be productive and deliver on its obligations.

Masoga has managed to build a brand that is constantly improving and continuously growing, this shows that she is handling the finances of her business well and she is spending the money on the right things to make sure her wine business keeps on developing.
