The IronMan Group Announces Its Partnership With Wahoo

The Iron Man Group Announces Its Partnership With Wahoo. It has been reported that The IronMan Group the owner of South Africa’s Cape Epic has partnered with Wahoo to become its technical training partner.

“We’re very excited to join The IRONMAN Group family and offer all athletes entering the many events under the Group’s portfolio the best in connected training,” Wahoo CEO Mike Saturnia said in a statement. “We believe that to be the best in endurance sports you need to have the best tools. We’re especially excited to reach the running and multisport community, who will have the chance to see how RIVAL and the entire Wahoo ecosystem can improve their training, while providing accurate race data they can be confident in.”

The Cape Epic is an annual mountain bike stage race held in the Western Cape, South Africa, first staged in 2004. The Cape Epic is the most televised mountain bike race in the world and the only eight-day mountain bike stage race classed as hors catégorie by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI); this official UCI status makes it a highlight on the professional racer’s calendar. The Cape Epic also attracts aspiring amateur riders wanting to test themselves against the best. It is a full-service race, meaning that everything is taken care of from the start – all riders need to think about is riding.

The race must be completed by both members of a two-person team with only 680 teams allowed to ride the race each year. Every edition follows a different route, leading aspiring amateur and professional mountain bikers from around the world through roughly 700 untamed kilometres of unspoilt scenery and up 17 250m of vertical ascent.

Founded in 2009 by Chip Hawkins in Atlanta, GA, Wahoo creates innovative solutions to make hard fought goals attainable and lives better. Wahoo was built on the foundation of simplicity and the mindset that “there’s got to be a better way.” “Wahoo is proud to be the Global Technical Partner for all IRONMAN Group Series events, including IRONMAN and Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series, UTMB trail-running races, road cycling, and multi-day mountain bike races like the Absa Cape Epic.” the company said on its website.
