South African Visual Artist Trevor Stuurman Announces His First Exhibition In UK. South African Visual Artist Trevor Stuurman took to Instagram to announce that he will be having his very first exhibition in the United Kingdom called, ‘Life Through The Lens’.
The post read, “In today’s good news: Excited to share that I’ll be having my first solo exhibition in the UK. Life Through the Lens runs from 13 May to 2 July @doylewham in London. Full story in todays @guardian (The Observer) written by Rob Walker.” The exhibition will take place from the 13th of May to the 2nd of July 2022 at Doyle Wham. Doyle Wham is dedicated to promoting innovative, emerging voices working in photography across Africa. It hosts regular exhibitions highlighting the diversity of Africa’s contemporary art scene today. It’s content is primarily designed for and distributed via its online platform, connecting its photographers with a global audience.
Stuurman is a South African Visual Artist that was born in Kimberly, he is an award winning contemporary multimedia visual artist, AFDA Graduate with a BA (HONS) Motion Picture & Live performance who sees the world through his creative lens and finds beauty in that which reminds him of home – a place that is imbued with colour, love and belonging. “The more I leave home, the more I realise the power and currency that home has. And I think that in turn makes me a better storyteller because I am able to find pieces of home wherever I go and then create tangible products.” Stuurman said on his website.
This exhibition will serve to introduce Stuurman to the United Kingdom market where he will be able to tell his story and therefore engage with potential clients. This is huge as Stuurman’s brand will be getting international recognition, which could attract more international clients that could help the brand grow even further.
