Technology Start-Up Quickloc8 Aims To Assist Taxi Owners In Managing Their Businesses. Quickloc8 is a technology start-up company that is conscious about the socio-economic landscape of South Africa and the many problems faced by the majority of commuters every day when they are on the road. Because of this the company decided to embark on an ambitious journey to develop disruptive and intervention products that will make their journey safer and more enjoyable.

The company highlights that it is genuine about this cause as most people have experienced these challenges growing up. Quickloc8 has partnered with the local taxis owners and their associations in finding practical solutions to modernise the industry and make it more competitive. The company consists of a multilingual and multicultural diverse team that is brazen and has ridiculous ambitions, as it hires smart people that listen inventively and treat everyone with respect.

The company believes that managing one’s taxis is better with its smartphone technology that provides real-time tracking, GPS location( with speed & direction), notifications when the driver’s shift starts and ends and how many trips they made between taxi ranks. Should taxi owners not want their driver to use the taxi, they can simply block it with the smartphone App and unblock it at the right time. This package has national network covevarage and provides taxi owners with important alerts such as overspeeding, harsh driving and even accident alerts.

The company was founded by Mbavhalelo Mabogo, who is passionate about making the taxi industry safer and better for everyone. Mabogo told Biz Community that, “Quickloc8 was started as means to empower taxi owners to tackle the difficult task experienced by taxi owners in managing taxis, drivers and ensuring route compliance. We wanted to develop an easy-to-use app that can help owners to manage their drivers better, reduce on-road accidents, and improve overall safety in the taxi industry, using technology.”
