Africa’s First Revlon Ambassador Bonang Matheba Reacts To The Company Preparing To File For Bankruptcy. South African media personality and Africa’s first Revlon Ambassador Bonang Matheba took to Twitter to react to the company preparing to file for bankruptcy.

The post read, “…😭😭😭😭😭. Wow!! I’m weeping too. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭” Matheba was announced as the first African brand ambassador of the brand in 2013. Matheba expressed how devoted she is that the company is preparing to file for bankruptcy as she still holds the brand to a high regard. The brand had also partnered with Michelle Mosalakae, Kim Jayde, Bontle Modisele and Loot Love as brand ambassadors.

It has been reported that American cosmetics brand Revlon is preparing to file for bankruptcy following its inability to pay it creditors. According to Bloomberg, the company has more than $3 billion of long-term debt, and has narrowly averted multiple defaults by cutting debt deals with creditors. Its annual interest expense was nearly $248 million last year, and it reported $132 million of liquidity as of March 31.

Revlon, Inc. is an American multinational company dealing in cosmetics, skin care, fragrance, and personal care. The headquarters of Revlon is in New York City and was established in New York City 1932. Revlon was founded in New York City on March 1, 1932 in the midst of the Great Depression, by Jewish American brothers Charles Revson and Joseph Revson along with a chemist, Charles Lachman, who contributed the “L” in the Revlon name. Even though the filling is set to occur this next week, the company has not released any statement.
