Beauty Entrepreneur Gorgeous Mbali Reflects On Being Awarded Africa’s Most Promising Female Business Exemplary Of The Year. South African beauty entrepreneur and founder of Hermosa Flor Cosmetics Gorgeous Mbali took to Instagram to reflect on being awarded the ‘Africa’s most promising female business exemplary of the year’ award.
The post read, “Flashback to one of the most important nights in my Entrepreneurial Journey … being awarded the Africa’s most promising female business exemplary of the year by @ccawardsafrica. Lol so starting @hermosa_flor_cosmetics was an escape from doing what I didn’t enjoy anymore as my life at the time felt stagnant and boring, all I knew was I WANTED MORE. I had lil expectations honestly I only wanted to make R10 000 a month because that’s what I needed at that moment to survive monthly while I step in fully into my purpose and my passion. I always knew my work ethic will take me places but not like this.”
Gorgeous Mbali also advices young people who want to venture into business to actually have some money saved up before they decide to quit their jobs to focus fully on entrepreneurship as consistent income in small businesses is not guaranteed. This advice is very important as most entrepreneurs tend to quit their jobs to focus on their business while the business isn’t making any sustainable income yet, doing this will only lead entrepreneurs to frustration as they will be be constantly trying to make ends meet with every income they get from their business and won’t be using it to grow the business.
Mbali knew the amount of money she needed in order to survive after quitting her job and she had a plan to make sure that she doesn’t use all of her business income on personal expenses but rather invested it back into the business. This shows why Mbali has been awarded Africa’s most promising female business exemplary of the year, she is able to share her business experiences, whether good or bad to make sure that upcoming entrepreneurs don’t repeat the same mistakes.
