How SA Visual Artist Steve Erwin Founded His Art And Design Studio ‘Steve Erwin Art’. Steve Erwin is a Cape Town based visual artist and illustrator covering a range of themes from surf and nature to automotive which he is most accredited for with paintings of cars, bikes and aeroplanes being his specialty.
All his original works are done by hand using mainly watercolour or acrylics applied with airbrush and paint brush on paper or canvas. Steve has been drawing, painting and designing ever since he knew how to hold a pencil. He excelled at art in school and went on to achieve a degree (B-tech) in Design from the University of Johannesburg in 2005. In 2008 he relocated from Johannesburg to Cape Town where he set up his own art and design studio which is currently situated in the sleepy village of Welcome Glen.
“I have been drawing, painting and designing ever since I can remember, mostly automotive and mechanical things so it was a natural progression combined with skills and techniques I have learnt and will forever be perfecting over the years, to get to the point where I can provide the highest quality art work to local and international clientele. The challenge of an open brief is one that I enjoy so if you are looking for something completely unique captured in acrylic on canvas or watercolours don’t hesitate to drop me a mail with your thoughts.” Erwin said on the company’s website.
In just a few years Erwin has managed to create many commissions of beloved vehicles for his clients and continues to grow his portfolio and client base as he seeks to build a studio that has perfected the art it offers to the public.
