Taboo Group SA Announces The Closure Of Taboo Night Club. Taboo Group SA took to its social media platforms to announce the closure of its mother brand, Taboo Night Club.
In the statement released the company said, “It is with great sadness that we have to officially announce the imminent closure of Taboo Sandton. As Taboo Group South Africa, we would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all our staff, partners, suppliers, artists, and the Sandton community who have supported us throughout the years,”
Nestled in the most glamorous square mile in Africa, Taboo has set the precedent for entertainment throughout the continent. Taboo Night Club, being the mother brand used to offer a discerning clientele an extravagant escape from the norm and a glittering stage upon which to shine. With 15 years it had in the industry, Taboo used to cater for an elite clientele by providing them with entertainment of the highest caliber; an experience of only the best in local and international DJs and artists whilst one enjoys the lavish and decadent interiors complimented by the breathtaking skylines of Sandton.
The company continued to say, “When Chris created Taboo, his vision was that it would be a place where dreams will be made. Through the years, it cemented and left an incredible mark in the club scene, fondly known as ‘the theatre of dreams’,” Having started the business when he was 19, and being determined to leave a legacy of nightlife entertainment, Chris Coutroulis immediately knew from the onset that it would be achievable. Coutroulis passed away in 2021 and Taboo Group SA believes his legacy and vision will still be carried on with the group’s other establishment called Onyx.
