Buns Out Burgers Announces The Closure Of Its Linden Store. South African burger joint Buns Out Burgers took to Twitter to announce that it will be closing its Linden Store due to load shedding, the company said it’s last trading day will be on the 9th of October 2022.
The post read, “Wow! What a journey it’s been! Today marks 3 years since we first opened BunsOut. When we started we had no idea what was to come and how fun, inspiring and challenging a journey it was going to be. We survived COVID through various forms and stages, we survived lockdowns and we’ve survived Loadshedding- sort of 😢 With that said, we have decided to close our Linden Store. Our last day of trading will be on the 9th of October. Without a generator we have found it very tough and with no sign of improvement on the grid we have had to take this tough decision. We hope you’ll come through and say goodbye 🥳 we will also be continuing to operate out of Prison Break Market so it’s not goodbye for good 😊 just goodbye for now”
Buns Out Burgers was started in September of 2019 as a simple concept in a little suburb of Joburg that very quickly became its home. The company was started by Tom Savage and Maps Maponyane with the aim of increasing and delivering a better hospitality experience for everyone. The company was forced to close its Rosebank store last year due to the level 4 lockdown restrictions and now it it face with clossing another one of its stores. This is the kind of negative impact that the current electricity situation has on companies or establishment that rely heavily on electricity for their businesses to function efficiently.
The company’s store in Norwood is its youngest and it’s the only one remaining. The company believes that the store is one of its crown jewels as it has the most amazing aesthetic and atmosphere. It has only been around for 6 months and as a business, it has grown and provided so much to the ever-evolving dynamic of Norwood as a Neighbourhood.
