Rain Partners With NVIDIA To Introduce GeForce NOW
Rain Partners With NVIDIA To Introduce GeForce NOW. Rain Network has announced that it has partnered with NVIDIA in order to introduce GeForce NOW in the country. It aims to bring high-performance cloud gaming to South Africa for the first time.
As part of the partnership Rain will bring the NVIDIA GeForce NOW to South Africa to ensure the highest quality gaming experience. The NVIDIA GeForce NOW service will be hosted locally in rain data centres. GeForce NOW is NVIDIA’s premium cloud gaming service, which seamlessly streams PC games from the world’s most powerful GeForce-powered servers in the cloud at ultra-low latency. Members can stream titles they already own from popular digital gaming stores including Steam, Epic, Ubisoft, Origin, even on under-powered devices. With Rain and GeForce NOW all gamers will need is a screen, compatible controllers and an internet connection to stream the latest games.
Rain launched in 2016, becoming SA’s first data only network. Its mission is to make data more accessible to more people, because it believes with access to an abundance of affordable internet, South Africans can do great things. The company’s name comes from the Sotho proverb, ‘khotso pula nala’, which translates to ‘peace, rain, prosperity. After growing its 4G network to cover SA’s major metropoles, the company went on to make history. In October 2019, it launched the first commercial 5G network in Africa, becoming the first standalone 5G network outside of China.
“We are extremely proud to partner with NVIDIA and bring cloud gaming to the fast-growing gaming market in South Africa. The ability to stream and enjoy the latest games on most devices, is a massive leap forward for the gaming community” said Brandon Leigh, rain CEO.
