Venture Capital Firm 4DI Raises R423 Million. South African independent venture capital firm 4DI has announced that it has managed to raise R423 million in funding. The company aims to use this money to fund tech start-ups.

The fund was created in partnership with DotExe Ventures in Mauritius, with an undisclosed raise from Mauritian-based conglomerate IBL Group, via its investment vehicle IBL Link Investments.

As part of IBL’s objective to strengthen its footprint in the region, DotExeVentures was founded with the purpose of managing venture capital funds with a focused emphasis on early-stage tech & tech-enabled start-ups, particularly in Africa. This new activity for IBL Group, largest conglomerate in Mauritius, is unique and disruptive on numerous levels, as it aspires to become a trusted partner to elevate the African tech ecosystem, by shaping agile investment strategies to empower daring founders and generate significant value for its stakeholders.

4Di Capital is an independent venture capital fund manager based in South Africa’s “Silicon Cape”, specialising in high-growth technology venture opportunities, at the seed, early-and growth-funding stages. The fund manager has offices in Cape Town, South Africa and Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. and funds are managed by the GP partnership team of Anton van Vlaanderen, Erik van Vlaanderen, Justin Stanford and Laurie Olivier.
