How An Advert Inspired Miles Kubheka To Establish His ‘Vuyos’ Restaurant

How An Advert Inspired Miles Kubheka To Establish His ‘Vuyos’ Restaurant. While watching an advertisement by Hansa Pilsner and SAB beer brand, Miles Kubheka, the founder of the Vuyo’s brand, wondered whether this success story of an entrepreneur who started off with mobile vending units selling boerie rolls, to becoming a world famous yacht owner was actually true.

After some research, he realised that Vuyo was a fictional character & saw a gap in the market for what would become an incredibly successful business model. He registered the Vuyos trademark and began the roll out of the first Vuyos mobile vending units, a project he soon realised was a powerful tool in empowering young, vibrant entrepreneurs looking to start & grow a brand the Vuyos way, big, bold and limitless.

Vuyos is an Modern African Cuisine business that offers a restaurant as well as catering for functions and events. The restaurant is upmarket and based in the hottest spot in Africa, Vilakazi Street. Vilakazi street is a global tourist destination and boasts to be the only street in the world that has two Nobel Peace Prize winners; Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu.

Miles Kubheka, aka Vuyo, is a game-changing entrepreneur who empowers others to find success. The IT graduate turned successful gastronomist is the founder, owner, and believer behind the renowned Vuyo’s brand, as well as being a sought-after public speaker. Miles teaches would-be entrepreneurs that all that’s required to start a business is vision and a hunger to succeed. He believes Africa needs leaders committed to creating wealth for their communities and that doing good is good business.

Miles’ passion is to set in motion a South African food revolution – he wants South Africans to feel proud of their food and to be able to go out and eat “what they grew up eating.”
