Homegrown Night Market At Serenity Hills Brings Quality Stalls To KZN South Coast
Homegrown Night Market At Serenity Hills Brings Quality Stalls To KZN South Coast. Established in March 2022, the monthly Night Market at Serenity Hills, Margate has quickly become a calendar favourite selling high-quality goods and international cuisine with the best in live entertainment. The next Night Market at Serenity Hills, taking place on Friday, 30 June, welcomes families and four-legged friends to shop and experience a great evening out in this serene and safe environment.
“The Night Market is the embodiment of Serenity Hills’ core values, a community-focused, family-friendly market prioritising locally sourced products in this beautiful natural environment,” commented Serenity Hills Development Director, Sam Wenger. “The high quality of goods sold makes this one of the only markets in the region that is comparative to those found along the Western Cape. This is also a great opportunity for visitors to take a look around the exquisite Serenity Hills Show House while enjoying a glass of wine.”
The Night Market is the perfect space for families to enjoy a delicious meal featuring cuisine from around the globe, with a great selection of wine, crafts gins, and beers on offer. Every month, the Night Market welcomes a new local band to create a magical atmosphere around the fire while patrons dine al fresco. The children’s activity section keeps the young ones entertained with a variety of interactive games. The market is pet-friendly, with 24-hour security, and is fully operational throughout load shedding or if it rains.
Wenger explained that the majority of products sold at Night Market are locally sourced and, if not locally made, then the business behind the products is local. There are close to 50 vendors selling jewellery, resin crafts, perfumes, children’s toys, art, homeware, beeswax products, skincare products, plants, handcrafted knives, clothing, and hair accessories. There’s also an array of delectable pickles, preserves, cakes, pastries, and biltong available.
Organisers are extending the market this month with The Packshed Terrace featuring a selection of vendors and additional space for customers to sit and enjoy the ambience. This extension will include even more fresh produce for market visitors to sample and enjoy. Among the vendors at the Night Market is The Phrase, which started with just three food products and now sells 29 products with exciting additions every month. Dis Kos-Mos is another food stall specialising in delicious street food from around the globe, with tacos a firm crowd favourite that quickly sell out!
Visitors can also head over to the famous The Packshed stall, the award-winning local restaurant of Serenity Hills specialising in fusion food with influences around the world. During the Night Market, patrons can enjoy a taste of lamb burgers made with lamb cooked on a spit, which is sold from The Packshed food stall. There are also several wonderfully crafted goods, such as those sold by Whispers Resin. This started as a side venture selling handcrafted jewellery during the pandemic and has expanded to include a wide range of products. Visitors can also look out for Manfred Mutape, a talented local artist who showcases his delightful work from wood carvings to paintings, wire and beadwork.
“The Night Market at Serenity Hills is a consistent hive of activity once a month, offering a safe environment for the whole family,” said Wenger. “Our vendors are carefully curated to ensure quality and variety. We like to focus on handmade and local as much as possible. The market also boasts its very own bar in addition to the existing bar at The Packshed – and both are open on market night!”
