Anglo Gold Ashanti Acquires Canadian Mining Company Corvus Gold. Canadian Mining Company Corvus Gold has announced that it has been acquired by Anglo Gold Ashanti. According to the company, shareholders voted overwhelmingly in favour of the resolution approving the previously announced plan of arrangement between Corvus and AngloGold Ashanti Holdings plc. Anglo Gold Ashanti will acquire the remaining 80.5% of the outstanding common shares of Corvus, not already owned by itself and its affiliates.

Closing of the acquisition remains subject to certain customary closing conditions, including obtaining the final order from the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Assuming the satisfaction of these closing conditions, the deal is expected to close on or around January 18, 2022. Corvus expects the common shares to be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Capital Markets.
