Innovation and entrepreneurship received a boost through finalising of a Memorandum of Understanding between The Innovation Hub and Old Mutual Corporate Ventures (OMVC). Old Mutual, a leading provider of financial services across several market segments and geographies in South Africa, the rest of Africa and in certain other emerging markets is betting on SMEs, and on the Innovation Hub, as a strategic partner whose mandate and reach sets the stage for SME success, to develop the economy.
The Innovation Hub objectives is to further promote economic development and knowledge economy to increase global competitiveness. With this partnership, The Innovation Hub entrepreneurs and SME’s will get access to tailored financial solutions from Old Mutual, business automation tools, as well as an array of access to market opportunities extending to African trade opportunities.
The Innovation Hub is a subsidiary of the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA). As the innovation agency of the Gauteng province, it is responsible for managing Africa’s first internationally accredited Science and Technology Park of the same name and is a full member of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP).
