How SAB Is Enabling The Dreams Of Local Entrepreneurs. SAB’s dream is to foster economically sustainable opportunities that are inclusive and enable enterpreneurs to gain access to opportunities.

Through its entrepreneurship programmes, SAB wants to support entrepreneurs on their journey and show its commitment to providing a tangible and sustainable future for all South Africans.
Through the SAB Foundation, SAB is investing in businesses and innovations that benefit women and youth, people in rural areas and people with a disability. Set up in 2010 as an independent trust, SAB Foundation has over the years invested millions annually towards entrepreneurship in South Africa, a total of R510 million to date. The SAB Foundation has flagship programmes that invest and support entrepreneurs across different stages, the programme are as follows:
- Disability Empowerment – support disabled entrepreneurs and social innovation that improves quality of life for people with disabilities.
- Rural Catalyst Programme – supports strategic farming models and initiatives in areas where these is high poverty.
- Social Innovation Awards – support and scale business targeting solutions to social problems.
- Tholoana Enterprise Programme – invests in entrepreneurs who show the potential and commitment to grow a business and create jobs.
Retail is the backbone of township economies. The high informality as well as lack of available support hinders their resilience and growth. SAB is deeply committed to support small black owned retailers through formalization, training and infrastructure investment.
