Dawn Beauty Brand Sees Spike In Sales Thanks To Kay Yarms’ Social Media Influence

Dawn Beauty Brand Sees Spike In Sales Thanks To Kay Yarms’ Social Media Influence. Clicks and Dis-Chem have reported a spike in sales of the Dawn Body Lotion with Vitamin E/Argan oil, since it was posted Kay Yarms, who is a YouTuber and influencer. The companies said that they had sold out all the Dawn due to the post that she made, where she praises Dawn for helping her with her stretch marks.

South African YouTuber Kay Yarms took to Twitter to share that she uses Dawn Body Lotion with Vitamin E/Argan oil on her skin for her stretch marks. Kay Yarms went on to further encourage anyone who is facing similar skin issues to try out the lotion. The post read, ““I actually wanted to plug you guys with a new product for stretch marks. I’ve only been using it for a month but the difference is so visible! (I’ve been using magnolia tissue oil, it keeps me moisturized but minimal results) this product has really really surprised me!”

The next day after her tweet went viral on Twitter, a lot of users began to post themselves buying the Dawn Body Lotion with Vitamin E/Argan oil. Due to this Clicks and Dis-Chem have come out to say that the lotion is sold out at most of their stores. “We sold out in 575 out of 714 stores and are busy replenishing stock nationwide,” Clicks Chief Trading Officer Nigel Grimes told Business Insider. Dis-Chem ran out as well. “We pulled sales reports of two Dawn “blue” variants and… saw a significant rise in sales” It told Business Insider.

Yarms’ large following correlates to the influence that she has in real life as people went to stock out the Dawn that she posted about. This shows that through influencer marketing and social media, companies can not only reach people but they can convince people to buy their products. Kay Yarms proves that influencer marketing is a method that works when it is done properly and companies should utilise this strategy to boost their sales just like Clicks and Dis-Chem did.
