Phamibly Analytics Recognised In MTN SA Foundation Women In Digital Business Challenge. Elizabeth Booi, one of the ten winners of the MTN SA Foundation’s Women in Digital Business Challenge, who sees her R100,000 share of the total R1 million as an opportunity to grow her business so that she can assist more young people achieve their IT dreams, is the perfect example of how when women enter the IT industry, experience has shown that their entrepreneurial instincts often end up providing people within their communities with services that offer development and employment opportunities.
The proud owner of Phambily Analytics assists primarily young black women from the community get to grips with subjects like statistical literacy, numeracy, research literacy, and data analytics. But, she says, she and the four people who teach these skills are also quite prepared to tutor matric learners and university students and help them get the confidence to enter IT as a career.
“I am grateful for the MTN SA Foundation’s generosity” says Elizabeth. “The money will help Phambily expandand reach scale, something that has been difficult because of limitations on financial resources. We aim to reach more than 1 000 students next year”.
