How Ecolabs Aims To Optimize ICT Infrastructure In Township Schools. Ecolabs is a social enterprise that aims to optimise the Information and Communication Technology infrastructure in township and rural schools. The company primarily uses obsolete, redundant or unserviceable fixed assets (computer equipment) to build computer labs (known as Ecolabs) in schools and libraries.
Ecolabs’ mission is to create a sustainable solution for stakeholders to make a meaningful impact through investment and inversely ensure investment yields leverage and substantial return. The founder of Eco Labs Africa Nhlanhla Mposula extends his gratitude to the partners involved in the company and hopes that the company will grow to create an impact that will bring change in township and rural schools.
The company also partners with institutions of higher learning to provide deserving students with laptops, it refurbishes and distributes the laptops which are sponsored by its private and public partners. It has created an integrated program in these aforementioned Ecolabs that aid youth in Maths, Science and Emerging Technologies (The 4th IR).
Its vision is to become the leader in eWaste Collections, build a strong ICT infrastructure in Africa to move the continent forward in the 4th Industrial Revolution and to upskill youth in Africa in Maths, Science and Emerging Technologies.
