How Solo Restaurant Gives Its Guests An Unforgettable Luxurious Experience

How Solo Restaurant Gives Its Guests An Unforgettable Luxurious Experience. Solo is the brain child of two friends Tumelo Maepa & Hlompho Chauke, who saw the chance to create not just a restaurant but a truly unique dining concept, an experience set in a contemporary and upmarket setting, with a modern, fresh menu of South African inspired dishes. These elements, all in the heart of South Africa’s business hub all topped off with a celebration of contemporary urban African culture.
Solo delivers contemporary cuisine, fusing traditional flavours with modern cooking methods. Every dish is exquisitely presented to create a sensory journey that is both unique and exciting with each seasonal menu offering an array of options from colourful sushi and luxurious small plates to contemporary main course dishes and stunning desserts.
“The look and feel of Solo is a soulful yet stylish. We’ve incorporated aged brass-work, antique mirrors, light timber wall cladding, and dried botanicals. We have some beautiful art pieces we did with African Ginger and we’ve brought in graffiti.” Maepa told The Insider.
According to The Insider, the restaurant’s dining area is divided into different sections. Guests can enjoy a sit-down meal at one of the bespoke dining tables, relax with a drink in the lounge, or take a seat at the contemporary sushi bar. Next to the bar is a featured walk-through, arched wine cellar displaying over 200 bottles of wine. This is not only a favourite for wine connoisseurs but for those who love to capture stellar shot for Instagram. This is Sandton’s hottest new restaurant and bar, they serve contemporary South African favourites in a soulful and stylish setting.
Sandton is a modern metropolis of skyscrapers and home to some of the country’s trendiest bars and eateries. One of the main attractions in Sandton is Sandton City, which ranks among the largest shopping centres in Africa. The completion of this precinct by the Liberty Group was the catalyst for the subsequent development of this entire area. Together with Nelson Mandela Square, the centre, with some 144,000 m2 of shopping space, is one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere behind Chadstone Shopping Centre. Opening a restaurant in this area is very smart as it already has a tourism culture where people are free to explore the places around the area.
