FlexClub Launches SA’s First Pay-As-You-Go Car Network To Redefine Car Access

FlexClub Launches SA’s First Pay-As-You-Go Car Network To Redefine Car Access. FlexClub has announced its latest business innovation, offering South Africa’s first Pay-As-You-Go Vehicle network in partnership with several global fleet brands. This direction aims to provide greater flexibility and convenience for customers in the market for a car, addressing the evolving needs of modern consumers, with an emphasis on making access to mobility simpler.

The company, which challenged traditional car ownership in 2020 with the introduction of its car subscription offering to South Africans, has partnered with global fleet brands such as Avis and Budget Car Rental to develop its new fleet network, ensuring a reliable supply of high-quality vehicles to consumers. These partnerships are central to FlexClub’s new Pay-As-You-Go vehicle network, which focuses on the delivery of the fastest and simplest way to get a car in South Africa.

Pay-As-You-Go car plans mirror the simplicity of Pay-As-You-Go cellular plans, allowing users to manage their monthly spend by topping up their account based on their usage needs, without locking customers into any long-term commitments. This model is designed to cater to a broader range of customers, including those with varied credit profiles and car needs. FlexClub CEO and Co-founder Tinashe Ruzane, notes that this new Pay-As-You-Go vehicle network is built following the company’s earned experience within the local and international mobility markets, and its desire to make mobility accessible to more South Africans.

“To build a Pay-As-You-Go car plan, one simply needs to select their preferred vehicle, choose when the plan should start, how long it should run, and where to collect the car. No old cars, no rigid contracts, no balloon payments, and you can get the car in 24 hours,” he said. “We prioritized speed and simplicity in the development of this new Pay-As-You-Go fleet network, which we’re now excited to make available to customers across South Africa.”

Key features of Pay-As-You-Go car plans on the FlexClub network include:

  • Fast, Easy sign-up: no approvals or FICA registration required. Users simply top-up to activate their Pay-As-You-Go car plan.
  • Vehicle Choice: Users can build their Pay-As-You-Go car plan selecting from a variety of the latest vehicle models, based on their needs.
  • Flexible Durations: Options to build a Pay-As-You-Go car plan for as little as one month.

“FlexClub’s new Pay-As-You-Go vehicle network marks a significant evolution in how we approach vehicle access,” said Ruzane. “Our goal is to enable unparalleled flexibility and convenience, empowering people to better address their mobility needs without the constraints of traditional car ownership.
