Mwah! Barley Milk Wins Gold At The 2024 Aurora International Taste Challenge

Mwah! Barley Milk Wins Gold At The 2024 Aurora International Taste Challenge. Mwah! Barley Milk has achieved a significant milestone, being awarded the prestigious Gold medal at the 2024 Aurora International Taste Challenge. This recognition underscores Mwah!’s commitment to delivering exceptional quality and taste in the competitive beverage industry.

Held in the scenic wine region of Stellenbosch, the 6th edition of the Aurora International Taste Challenge celebrated outstanding food and beverage products from around the globe. The event brought together some of the world’s leading industry professionals who meticulously evaluated entries based on appearance, aroma, flavour, texture, and aftertaste.

The panel of judges, led by convener Michelle Grimbeek, comprised the finest experts with extensive international experience, including chefs, sommeliers, and product-specific experts. These professionals evaluated the products double-blind, ensuring impartiality and focusing on quality from a consumer perspective. Each judge independently assessed the products without conferring with others, ensuring unbiased and accurate scoring. Beverages, sauces, and food products were served at appropriate temperatures and judged on criteria such as aroma, flavour, mouthfeel, and overall impression using a proprietary scoring system.

This year, the competition highlighted the growing trend towards healthier beverage options, and a continued growth in plant-based alternatives like Mwah! Barley Milk. The event also emphasized sustainability and innovation, showcasing how the industry is evolving to meet changing consumer preferences.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this Gold award,” said Sean Willard, Founder and CEO of Mwah! Barley Milk. “As a Proudly South African company, this accolade is a testament to our dedication to quality and our commitment to providing delicious, sustainable, and innovative products to our customers. Mwah! truly lives up to its promise of Good Taste, Good Foam, and Good Texture. This award reinforces our mission to bring the best plant-based milk to our consumers.”
