Truman & Orange Appointed As Distribution Partner For Suntory Global Spirits In South Africa

Truman & Orange Appointed As Distribution Partner For Suntory Global Spirits In South Africa. Suntory Global Spirits’ portfolio has been available in South Africa for many years and the company continues to see significant, long-term opportunity in South Africa for its iconic global brands, including Jim Beam® and Maker’s Mark® bourbons, Laphroaig® Scotch whisky, as well as Japanese whiskies, Hibiki® and Toki™, and Roku™ Japanese gin.

In recent years, Truman & Orange has become one of South Africa’s fastest growing premium drinks distributors. Truman & Orange’s expanding portfolio of unique spirit brands, Fever-Tree (the world’s leading premium mixer brand) and Evian (the world’s leading premium water), establishes the company’s portfolio as one of the most compelling in the premium drinks space.

Rowan Leibbrandt of Truman & Orange, said, “We are excited to be partnering with SGS and representing their portfolio in South Africa. We established Truman & Orange with the intention to cater for South Africans’ increasingly sophisticated urban drink tastes and Suntory Global Spirits’ portfolio, including brands like Jim Beam and Laphroaig, are leading in their respective drinks segments around the world. The unique range of exquisite products within The House of Suntory portfolio will also undoubtedly help us in achieving this vision.”

“Suntory Global Spirits is delighted to partner with Truman & Orange, which is well positioned to successfully grow our brands in South Africa, given their experience, track record, and network in trade,” says Vijay Govindsamy, General Manager Suntory Global Spirits.

Truman & Orange formally took over the distribution of Suntory Global Spirits’ portfolio in South Africa from July 10th, 2024. This appointment follows Suntory Global Spirits’ strategic decision to cease direct commercial operations in South Africa and transition to a third party distribution model in the country.
